Aware Of These Tools: 5 Must-Have Cleaning Tools For Every Home

If you want to keep your home clean, then there are specific tools that you need to have. Homeowners who are more of a stickler for these things will have many more than these, but here are five that should be considered essentials.

Aware Of These Tools: 5 Must-Have Cleaning Tools For Every Home

1. Vacuum Cleaner

Everyone needs a vacuum cleaner, and many of the newer models are not particularly expensive. They last for a long time, too, especially if you get one that has an extended warranty. The ideal vacuum is one that can collect dust, pet and human hair, particulate matter, and anything else that is likely to be found on floors, shelves, and furniture. You should also look for one that has several different attachments for those hard-to-reach places.

2. Broom and Dustpan

A good old-fashioned broom and dustpan are good to have around the house as well. It’s completely low-tech, and the design probably hasn’t changed a great deal in the last few hundred years. Still, they’re around because they get the job done. If you’ve got a spill in the kitchen or you tracked something in from outside, you can grab the broom and dustpan and take care of it in just a few seconds.

3. Mop

Like the broom and dustpan, mops have been around in one form or another for ages. Certain ones are designed with extra features of various sorts that are supposed to promote ease of use, but the basic design is going to be similar for all of them. For wet messes or for soaping down the kitchen or the bathroom floors, having a bucket and mop on hand is vital for any household.

4. Spray Bottle

You can pick up a spray bottle online or at any home and garden center, and they have dozens of uses. You can use them to water hanging plants or to spray deterrents outdoors if insects are after your garden. You can fill one up with a diluted cleaning solution and clean your windows, your bathroom, or anywhere else you feel is appropriate. They’re inexpensive, and you can even have a few of them for different functions if you like.

5. Scrub Brush

Some cleaning jobs require a little elbow grease, and the scrub brush is the tool that’s needed. Combined with a cleaning solution, you can tackle any job in the kitchen or bathroom with a stout scrubbing brush. Make sure to use gloves that are specifically for the purpose if you use yours with any caustic chemicals.

With the possible exception of a high-end vacuum cleaner, none of these tools are going to break the bank, and you’ll be glad that you have them. They should last you a long while, and knowing they’re there will give you the confidence to tackle any project. Of course, you can always call Miry’s Cleaning or a similar service if you’d prefer to pay someone else to do it for you. One way or another, your home should be clean. It’s about more than aesthetics. A clean house means fewer germs that can make you sick.
