Devastated Dog Starts Crying after Realizing He’s Been Abandoned at a Shelter

A man is known by his company, and keeping a pet makes for an excellent comrade. Surrounding yourself with animals has remarkable benefits. These adorable creatures ward off bouts of loneliness and anxiety and shower their buddies with TLC.

Pet owners enjoy numerous health benefits, including improved emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Many people prefer keeping dogs because these four-legged friends provide an extra dose of unconditional love and comfort.

THE HEARTBROKEN DOG

But the same pups who smother their human friends with constant love and care can sometimes require a little pick-me-up. A 6-year-old dog underwent similar circumstances in 2016, and his emotions were all over the place.

In a heart-wrenching clip shared by the "Saving Carson Shelter Dogs" Facebook page, a sweet dog called AJ was captured looking miserable. AJ was a Pitbull and Labrador retriever cross and was pictured inside the shelter lying on a bed.

The utterly distraught dog was seen crying and shivering as a shelter worker tried to ease his pain. It was evident that AJ was battling severe emotional trauma and going through a painstakingly troublesome time due to abandonment.

FACING ABANDONMENT

According to the shelter, AJ was a beautiful and lively dog and was surrendered alongside his brother, Toby. Their former owners gave them up because they couldn't afford to care for them.

However, Hart and his husband practiced patience and provided the dog with a loving and caring environment.

When the dogs arrived, they did great walking on a leash, but they felt confused and started missing home over time. The shelter workers hoped social media users could help find the dogs a loving family.

"AJ is 100% pure sweet, gentle, loving beauty, he loves other dogs and he is missing his brother. He is shutting down, he has a cold and he needs your help today (sic)," read the caption of the shelter's Facebook post.

Saving Carson Shelter Dogs also requested people to share the post so that a foster parent or adopter could save AJ and Toby. The short video was posted on Facebook on February 2, 2016, and within a short time, it garnered millions of views and reactions from netizens.

Thanks to the viral video, little AJ found a new home. The shelter broke the happy news in a follow-up post.

FINALLY RESCUED

"This beauty touched the hearts of a lot of people and today he was lucky enough to take his freedom walk out of the shelter, even while he is struggling with a cold," read the caption.

The Facebook post also mentioned that rescue workers planned to save AJ's bonded brother, Toby. The dogs had been severely depressed owing to their separation, and the shelter hoped to reunite them.

It's a relief to know that people care and feel for animals and work relentlessly to ensure their safety and survival.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

Like the shelter workers who helped AJ and Toby, a couple embarked on a long journey to rescue their deceased grandfather's dog, who faced the possible risk of being put down.

After the death of his elderly companion due to COVID-19, an Australian shepherd, Oatmilk Latte, was left alone. Then, in a surprising change of events, TikToker Ashton Hart and his husband learned about the dog and decided to take him in.

Hart was already associated with animal activism and felt a strong urge to help the pup. When they welcomed Oatmilk Latte, he had health complications and was grieving the loss of his master.
