Feeling Lost? Here’s How To Make Decisions

It’s easy to feel lost in life. It can be difficult to know what our “calling” is and whether we’re going in the right direction. People say that it is our choices that define us, but how do we know if we’re making the correct ones? Do we go left, or right?

Despite what some people say, it’s normal to feel lost at some phase in your life. Most of us aren’t born knowing what we want to do. We have all experienced a sense of uncertainty. The following will help you know how to make decisions.

Think Spiritually

Some people are more naturally spiritually minded than others. However, anyone can learn. Spirituality can be a great help when you’re feeling hopeless or struggling with a decision. Speaking to a psychic on a medium chat, for example, might help you to ascertain what’s most important to you. Meditating can also be useful in clearing your mind and gaining focus. Generally, being more spiritual can help you in all walks of life. Spirituality encourages honesty and kindness and, by applying this to your life, you might find decision making much easier.

Write It Down

Some people need to be organized to make decisions. They like to see their options in front of them and weigh out the pros and cons. If you’re like this, it can help to write everything down and make a list with the pros and cons on each side. Alternatively, you might benefit from writing your thoughts in a journal or diary, and reading it over. It can be difficult to understand our thoughts when they’re jumbled in our brains, so seeing them on paper can be massively beneficial.

Talk it out

A problem shared is a problem halved. Seriously. If you’re struggling to make a direction or feeling lost in life, speaking about the problem with a friend or family member will help to provide some clarity. A good friend will help you to weigh out the pros and cons and come to a decision. Often, it takes someone a little distanced from the problem to see what the best outcome is. When we’re attaching our emotional baggage, we can easily become confused. If you don’t want to speak to someone you know, you might benefit from speaking to a therapist or counsellor. The key is to vocalize the issue and discuss the options.

Trust your gut

At the end of the day, you are the person most impacted by the decisions you make, and therefore you need feel confident about the choices you make. So, even if your best friend thinks you should do the opposite, you won’t be happy if you ignore your gut. You’ll feel anxious and unsure, and you’ll blame your friend if something goes wrong. Whether you’re choosing a pair of trainers or considering moving across the world, it needs to be the right outcome for you. You’re the one wearing the trainers and eating the foreign cuisine, after all.
